Sprachreise Irland

4AHETS and 4BHETS 2025| Engineers Abroad: Powered by Curiosity

From Salzburg they came – what a bright, buzzing crew,
With gadgets and dreams (and a voltage or two).
They packed up their circuits with geeky delight,
And landed in Dublin – the skies crisp and bright.

From March 26th till April the 2nd,
A week full of wonders, far more than they reckoned.
With shamrocks in pockets and (Google) maps in their hands,
They stepped on the shores of those fair Irish lands.

Host families welcomed them with warm Irish charm,
No soldering irons, but plenty of calm.
By day, they learned English with earnest finesse,
By night, they found ways to unwind and de-stress.

Confused by the cars driving down the “wrong” lane,
They laughed at the madness, then hopped on a train.
DART on the tracks and darts in the pub –
With Coke Zero, of course, their preferred kind of grub.

They danced Irish jigs, legs in comic despair,
Limbs flying around with some crazy wild hair.
At Bray’s neon arcade, they bowled strikes here and there,
Though one swore the ball had “a curve most unfair.”

Hiking Howth’s bold cliffs in the bracing sea mist –
One drone took a dive – it would have sorely be missed.
Others braved the cold Irish waters, with defiance (and toes),
Though technically told, "No swims!!! Rules, you know!"

In Glendalough wandering where ancient stones tell,
Of monks and of myths that still cast their spell.
On to Wicklow Gaol, with stories so grim,
History’s shadow left lasting marks on the brim.
At the market, they sampled fresh food in the heat
And bought one single carrot – A whimsical treat!

When buses got cancelled or plans went askew,
They kept their cool – as Taylor would do.
No panic, no grumbling, no drama to brew –
They smiled, took a breath, and just shook it off, too.
So once the bus didn’t show after dance class at night
They strapped on their shoes, and walked home in delight
Ten thousand more steps, just part of the fun,
‘Cause engineers don’t quit – they get the job done!

And each night – though their legs begged for mercy or rest –
They would shoot a video diary (not always their best).
On Teams it went up, with bloopers and smile,
A highlight reel crafted with humour and style.
Some learned a life lesson – not taught in a class:
The glass is half full, not half empty, alas!

They soaked in the culture, the sights, and the views,
And maybe one Guinness snuck in past the rules ...
So raise a cheer to this fine student batch,
Whose stories and laughter no textbook can match.

From Salzburg to Ireland, with passion and spark –
They lit up Dun Laoghaire like a fuse in the dark!
